The board appears here once the page loads.
Puzzles are generated in your browser and every one is checked to have exactly one solution. Difficulty is set by the solving steps a puzzle needs, not only by how many numbers it starts with. Nothing is uploaded or saved. Print at 100% scale.
4x4 and 6x6 sudoku
A 4x4 puzzle uses the numbers 1 to 4 in four boxes of two by two. A 6x6 puzzle uses 1 to 6 in boxes of two rows by three columns. The rules are the same as the full puzzle, so children can move up to 9x9 when they are ready.
- Start with 4x4 and say the rule out loud together.
- Ask the child to explain why a number must go in a square.
- Six per page makes a quick classroom handout.
